Being a blogger, especially for the tech industry, time to time I come across utilities and tools that are so basic and simple in their working, yet package such convenience that one cannot help but question how we’d survived until now without such a thing. For people who play around a lot with Android and love to modify their devices, having multiple sets of different APKs on their computer is nothing too surprising or even worrisome. What’s annoying, however, is to have several APK files lying around in a folder that you cannot recognize, nor can you even tell what they are unless you install them.
Installing an APK that you’ve just grabbed off the internet directly to your device is a bad idea for various obvious reasons. Unfortunately, there aren’t many possibilities to look into what an APK does without sideloading it onto an Android smartphone or tablet. That’s exactly what the app in question, APK-Info, aims to address.

APK-Info is a simple Windows-based application that will look at an APK file, analyze it and provide certain valuable pieces of information pertaining to that application package.
The program captures information such as the name of the application, the icon that will be displayed, version information, package name, SDK version and more. More important pieces of information include what permissions would the APK command, what screen resolutions does it support, what are the features, and a link to the Google Play Store entry for the said application, should that exist. APK-Info even allows you to easily rename the APK file for better identification in the future.

The highly-useful tool is available completely free, and was originally released over at the Total Commander forums. From there, it was taken up by an XDA-Developers forum member who’s updated the utility to provide more updated information, such as the new Android SDK versions, Play Store links instead of the old Android Market etc. Whether the development continues or not, we’ll have to see.

From my point of view, I find APK-Info to be a very valuable addition to my existing arsenal of Android-related utilities. Since the application is free, it won’t hurt for you to give it a try either – you may end up using it on a daily basis!

Apple’s WWDC keynote 2012 unveiled the next major upgrade to the company's highly popular mobile operating system - iOS 6. With over 200 new features the all new Apple iOS6 is currently available as a free download for registered developers and will be made available to users this fall as a free software update.

Life OK's Devon Ke Dev. Mahadev has been consistently scaling  the TRP chart and to keep their ascent on the chart active production house has planned many entries to be introduced in the show. The latest news is that Mugdha Shah has been finalized to play Parvati's mother in the show.

Mugdha was last seen as Murli's mother in Imagine's Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo and will now be essaying a very critical role. She will be paired opposite Pankaj Dheer.

We contacted Mugdha who confirmed the news - "Yes, I am playing Parvati's mother in the show and it's a powerful character. Today is my first day of shoot and I can't reveal more about the character."

Production house of Devon Ke Dev. Mahadev is looking for an actress to play Parvati and Suhasi Dhami seems to be the favorite to bag the role…

Life OK's Devon Ke Dev. Mahadev has hit the right note with the audience and has been fairly consistent in the TRP ratings.

The show will now have 'Parvati' track and the production house is looking for actresses to play the character. Quite a few actresses have been approached to play the role.

We hear Divyanka Tripathy who is currently seen in Comedy Circus, Aasiya Kazi who was in Imagine's Dharampatni , Suhasi Dhami aka Abha  in Zee TV's Yaha Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli, and Pooja Bose have been shortlisted to play the important character.

We contacted Suhasi who rubbished the news saying that she has not been approached. We also called Aasiya who confirmed the news of being approached but told Tellybuzz that nothing has been finalized yet.

On the other hand Producer Nikhil Sinha too denied the news of approaching Suhasi and also told -" We have approached many known faces but nothing has been confirmed yet."
 
The buzz doing the rounds is that Suhasi Dhami is currently leading the race and in high probability could be selected to play the character of 'Parvati'!

Like previous versions of Windows, the Log Off and Lock functions in Windows 8 enable users to quickly switch between all the available user accounts without having to restart or shutdown the PC. The Start Screen in Windows 8 displays your name along with the account picture at the top right corner. Clicking it opens up a menu containing options to Change account picture, Lock and Sign out from the current account, or access any other account existing on the computer just by clicking its name. Once you select another user account, you will be automatically logged off from the current one and taken to the login page of the selected account.
