India, China planning joint army exercise in 2012

New Delhi, Nov 13:

With India and China resuming their bilateral military exchanges four months ago, the two nations are planning to revive their joint military exercise in 2012.

The planning for the exercise will be done at the next round of annual defence consultative talks that the two sides will hold in mid-December when they will also chalk out their bilateral exchanges and interactions, a top Indian Army official told IANS here.

Crossing Circles Illusion

Is it only me, or do these circles composed of black and white squares, seem to cross-over? You be the judge! It worked for me… Amazing. Similar one here. I’m still not sure how these illusions work, and boy, we had many of them here in the past. Another version would be the one, where the concentric circles seem to make a spiral. You have got to check this animation out! It has potential to overthrow the “Little Dragon Illusion” of the throne as one of the best illusions ever. In short concave figures give the impression they are actually convex (bump out). Same principle we saw in Einstein’s Hollow Face and Magnificent Buddha. Backup and Restore Firefox Profiles Easily

Transferring a Firefox profile from one computer to another can be a pain if you have to do it manually. Sure, you can locate the Firefox profile directory and then copy it to the new machine, but then it doesn’t automatically show up in the list, etc.

A much easier method for backing up and restoring profiles is to just use the MozBackup application to backup and restore the profiles to a single backup file.
When you launch the application, you can choose to either backup or restore the profile. You can choose which profile to back up, and what file to save it as.

You can restore the profile on another computer by simply launching the MozBackup application on that computer, and then selecting the profile to restore to, and chosing the backup file that you copied from the first computer:

How to Backup and Restore Firefox Passwords List - GujaratiKanudo

Somebody recently wrote in asking how to backup the list of saved passwords in Firefox into a spreadsheet, so I’m writing the solution here for everybody: All you need is the Password Exporter extension.
If you’d like to backup your entire profile including passwords, cookies, bookmarks, etc, you can use this method.

Open up the Add-ons screen and find Password Exporter in the list, where you can click the Options button to bring up the Import/Export Passwords dialog.

Adobe Flash Finally Says "Quit" On Android And All Other Mobile Platforms

Spat between Late Steve Jobs And Adobe Flash is well-known among the tech-circle, surprisingly Adobe has dropped down their weapons and announced not to further develop the "Adobe Flash Plugin" for mobile devices anymore. According to the official blog-post announcing this Adobe is encouraging developers to use Adobe AIR and HTML5 in the future as alternatives to the Flash web-plugin.

Which Tech Gadgets Will Be Phased Out This Decade?

Hindsight may always be 20-20, but you don’t need particularly great foresight to know many of the gadgets on today’s market won’t be around in 2020 given how quickly the tech industry keeps changing. In the first half of the 2000s, retailers were buzzing about the prospects of MP3 players and netbooks, but by the end of the decade, those products had largely been replaced by smartphones and tablets.
As tempting as it may be to imagine otherwise, some of the gadgets you may rely on most right now will likely suffer the same fate and be killed off or made obsolete by the end of this decade. Sure, you may still be able to find these products for sale in certain niche stores, but they will no longer be produced for a mass-market audience.
“You can still find and buy VCRs and there are people still using mainframes from 1992, so it’s not like this stuff disappears forever,” says Stephen Baker, an industry analyst at the NPD Group. Baker notes that the main reason retailers continue to market and sell outdated products is to cater to shoppers who buy them for nostalgia’s sake, but for all intents and purposes the market has left these products in the dust. So which popular products today will join the likes of VCRs, cassette players and transistor radios in the next few years? MainStreet asked five tech analysts to offer their thoughts on the gadgets that will largely be phased out by the end of this decade.
