Wooga Lands Game On Facebook Mobile Platform

Facebook’s newest mobile platform is populating with applications, like one from wooga: Magic Land Island.

The game that downloads from the social network’s mobile site works on all smartphones and tablet devices.

Much like three of the games introduced by Zynga Tuesday, Magic Land Island is HTML5-based, making the application accessible on all smartphones and tablet devices.

The Chief Technology Officer of wooga, Philipp Moeser, said, “The rapid technological development and possibilities of HTML5 surprised us during the development process, and we are really seeing a lot of potential for a new segment of mobile social games.”

Magic Land Island launched as a stand-alone game, but wooga said it will soon be integrated with Magic Land, which has drawn some 4 million monthly players since launching in mid-August.

The social integration featured in Magic Land translates over to mobile platforms in Magic Land Island.

Game play brings the elements of role playing, city building, and adventure to a story line based on medieval customs and legends.

Readers, are you anxious for the rollout of more HTML5-based games that can be played across all platforms?

How to Choose Brilliant Images for Your Blog Posts

An image - worth thousand words!
We are living in a world that rewards instant gratification; people do not want to take the time to read a book, if the movie is available. In other words, "a picture is worth a thousand words." It should not be difficult to see why illustrations are important when keeping readers interested in your blog posts. Pictures can help readers to follow your writing more easily, breaking up the text so that it doesn't look like one long, tedious piece of work.
Here are some tips on how to choose the best images for your blog posts:

(#1.) Relevance - blog posts are generally there to persuade readers to show interest in a certain topic, product, or service. Adding pictures to help illustrate those concepts can only help, but don't go overboard. Shy away from adding pictures for the sake of adding pictures. Make sure that you are putting up illustrations that are going to add to the relevance of your text, not take away from it. It is easy to add too much, so try to keep it straight forward and to the point, just like the text.

Facebook Finally Launches Its Own IPad Application

Facebook has finally launched its own version of the social network optimized for the iPad.
Until now, the version of Facebook that appeared on the iPad was the same as what showed up on the much smaller-sized screen of the iPhone.
This required iPad users to choose between the lesser of two evils: either use a portion of the iPad’s screen to surf Facebook, or hit a button in the top or bottom corner to expand the navigable area, thus reducing resolution.

This predicament created a market for third-party developers, namely Oceoway’s Friendly — not to be confused with Facebook acquiree friend.ly, which is a question-and-answer application.
However, users have complained that even Oceoway’s Friendly still didn’t do enough to optimize the Facebook experience for the iPad’s screen.
